Bamban Municipality

The furthest southern point of Tarlac Province is where Bamban is situated. It is bordered on the north by the Capas, Tarlac, municipality and on the south by Mabalacat, Pampanga. Bamban and Mabalacat are divided by the Parua River, also referred to as the Bamban River. The Tarlac municipality of Concepcion is located to the east. Because of the mountains and rolling hills that border the Botolan, Zambales municipality on the western side, the terrain is rough. Agriculture is appropriate for the large expanse of flat ground on the eastern side. There, a large number of Bambans work in agriculture.

Bamban was one of the first communities to take up arms against the Spaniards during the revolt of 1896. Remains of fortresses established by valiant bands of Bambanenses who aided Gen. Servilliano Aquino in the Tarlac insurrection can be found in the hills northwest of the town. A section of the nearby foothills has been referred to as "Batiawan" or a lookout point up until this point. In this freedom movement, many heroic sons lost their lives.

In the Philippines' Central Plain of Luzon, the province of Tarlac, a cultural melting pot, has its southernmost entrance in the municipality of Bamban. As the province's southernmost town, it shares a border with Mabalacat, Pampanga, and in the west borders Zambales.
