Tiger grass or locally called “buyboy” which grows well in the cool climate of Sitio Dueg, Barangay Maasin was introduced by the Igorots who migrated in the sitio where the first sprouts originated from Benguet. The production only started some time in year 2005 with a small parcel of uncultivated land by these migrants to try on producing buyboy in the area. They’ve seen the possibility of mass production of buyboy that can supplement the materials used for the famous Baguio City brooms.

In Tarlac province, the holiday season will not be complete without the yearly “Belenismo”, which brings out the creativity of municipalities, churches, and communities to create colorful, life-sized belen structures out of simple materials. In 2007, a province-wide festival displaying creativity, unity (bayanihan), ingenuity, and Filipinos’ love on celebrations was born.
